- fiction picture books
- self-published books
You can get a sense of what books I tend to review by looking at my previously published book reviews. There are no reviews of 2014 titles due to my service on the 2015 Newbery Committee and its confidentiality policies.
My preferences and interests run to the following:
- Middle grade and YA fiction, especially realistic and historical fiction and diverse literature in all genres.
- Middle grade and YA narrative nonfiction, especially diverse literature.
- Picture book nonfiction.
- Genres/topics for upcoming Reading Wildly meetings.
